Shaolin Kongfu Formulas

Shaolin Kongfu Formulas
Shaolin Kongfu has long history and been passed down generation after generation. In the course of over 1000 years, monks of Shaolin temple had summarized a great many unique Kongfu formulas during their practice of Kongfu, which have constituted the essence of Shaolin Kongfu and become valuable cultural heritage. For better inheritance of Shaolin Kongfu formulas, a great many works have been published, which include Illustration of Shaolin Clubbing Formulas and Necessity for Boxing Formulas. The followings are existing Shaolin Kongfu formulas.
1. Shaolin clubbing formula
High four position formula is highly flexible and capturing skill could be used when the opponent attacks in the front. Lower body and attack the lower part of the opponent and get away by clubbing and spearing strokes.
Medium four position formula could achieve surprising effects and enables the attacker to defeat the opponent out of sudden. With the flexible strokes, no opponent could ever get away without being undefeated.
Lower four position formula is aimed to attack at higher positions. But the attacker shall guard against the attacks above head.
The attacker shall know feinting and real attacking actions. In front of the attack, he could dodge leftward and rightward and defeat the enemy by moving forward the body.
As it is difficult to capture the head of a crouching tiger, one should not hesitate to attack the opponent. Cutting down strokes are effective to defeat left side and right side attacks.
Take a crouching tiger posture and launch the attack.
Take slant steps to move forward and feinting actions to defeat spear strokes.
End with dragon waving head stroke and enemy could be defeated. The tiger mouth spear attack shall be guarded against.
Cow ploughing stroke is extremely powerful and highly difficult to be defeated. In this case, ring skills shall be employed at the right moment.
2. Shaolin boxing formula
General formula; Stretch out and put palms between yin and yang. Dodge skillfully and take slant sight to observe the enemy’s movements. Learn from Guiquan to attack and move skillfully in attack.
Body movement formulas: Hold head upward, face forward and depart arms. Stand upright and protect Yin by legs. Depart feet in Ding position while stand slantly and take a bow posture to launch the attack. As long as feet and legs are stable, the stability of body is ensured. Foot movement shall be flexible. Learn to feint and dodge so that few people could defeat larger group of enemies.
Finger formulas: The palm strokes shall be as light and changeable as wind and smoke. The most important skill for attacking is to strike the edge.
Footwork formulas: Bend knees slightly and naturally. Practice diligently to attain strength. Dodge flexibly and use ring strokes skillfully.
Qi formulas: Clench teeth and never open the mouth. Otherwise, the source of strength will be cut. Qi shall be stored in stomach rather than chest to launch an attack. Practice to use minimum qi to roll over and turn around.
3. Shaolin boxing formula
Formula One: Use boxing strokes in the manner of using fire and bow. Attack the abdomen like an eagle and attack the sides as quickly as wind. Strike the feet like tiger claws and strike fingers like nails.
Formula Two: Use lung’s strength like thunder strike and use spleen’s strength for powerful attack. If qi in the whole body is used, one strike is strong enough to defeat the opponent. Otherwise, the attack would be useless.
4. Shaolin striking skill formula
Formula One: The first target place is eyebrow and eye, the second is lip, the third is ear, the fourth is sutura on the back, the fifth is chest and internal organs, the sixth is protruding bones, the seventh is knees and tenons, and the eight is bone.
Formula Two: Do not strike temple in the first place, Suo in the second place, heart and arms in the third, libs in the fourth, yin in the fifth, kidney in the sixth, sutura in the seventh and two ears in the eighth.
5. Footwork and hand stroke formula
Hand strokes go together with body movements. One shall retreat before attack. Strike back against single opponent and dodge in front of double opponents. Use hand stroke if the opponent is far and elbow stroke if the opponent is near. Gather strength of the entire body to attack and the opponent could be defeated.
6. Attack and defense formulas
The two formulas are different but could be used in exchange. The opponent is difficult to be defeated without capturing skill. One shall observe the opponent’s movement first before attacking. Observe, dodge and attack at the right moment.
7. Integration formula for organs and limbs
Integrated use of ear and heart makes one smart; integrated use of eye and heart makes one penetrating; integrated use of mouth and heart makes one courageous; integrated use of nose and heart makes one stronger; integrated use of hands and heart makes one quicker; integrated use of feet and heart makes one more stable.
8. Shaolin Xiaotong boxing formula
Take a ding posture and embrace arms. Three effective palm strokes are powerful enough to cut open a well. Cutting powerfully like thunder strike. Move forward in slant footwork and the opponent’s elbow could be caught instantly. Push back the opponent and strike the lower body to arrest the throat of the opponent.
9. Shaolin Luohan 18 hand strokes formula
Ape passing tiger stroke is powerful enough to conquer Chiyu. And one shall never get worried as long as the stroke of god giving road direction is employed. Use the three strokes together: turning head and watching the moon, dragon waving tail and kid worshipping Buddha. Combine the stroke of presenting flower and the stroke of goose stretching out wings. If the stroke of ape plucking peach and the stroke of King pointing out the winner are used in combination, one could instantly take the edge. King cutting beard with sword and Yuxiang lying on ice are equally effective. The other effective strokes are swallow drinking water, carp jumping out of river, Luohan striking tiger, crane stretching out wings, Monkey King staying in cave, snake putting out tongue, and Tianshi launching the bow.
10. Shaolin Luohan boxing formula
The head stroke shall be as flexible as wave movements. Body shall be as speedy as a shooting star and as light as willow. Footwork shall be as changeable as that of a drunken person.
11. Shaolin spear stroke formula
Use spear in the manner of shooting and retreat spear like jumping over tiger. Body shall be as light as a cat and pierce spear powerfully as striking a tiger. Eyes shall look toward high position and jumping in the manner of climbing a mountain. Cut down spear in the manner of pressing a tiger and release the spear like playing with dragon.
12. Shaolin sword stroke formula
Sword shall be played in light manner. Qi shall be used as per sword movements. Eyes shall look at sword and qi held stable all the time. Body movement shall be light and speedy as swallow flies over. Sword shall be stricken at the right moment and with stable strength.
13. Shaolin clubbing formula
Shaolin Kongfu is well known for its clubbing skills and clubs shall be used at the right moment. Footwork is as firm as nails and movements are as speedy as wind. Club strokes are as powerful as a ton. Physical strength is required to play club and qi shall be pressed downward inside the body. Once one is moved, qi shall be inhaled. Qi moves together with club and qi goes out as club is stricken out.
14. Shaolin blade stroke formula
The blade strokes are speedy and fatal. Wave blade in circle and press down blade like cutting open a mountain. Qi shall be held while carrying blade. Qi shall be gathered and used out of surprise. Important organs shall be attacked in speedy manner.
15. Shaolin whipping formula
Shaolin nine section whip is approximately one meter in length. Whip shall be held in right hand and left hand shall be clenched in fist. Qi shall be gathered before launching whip. The body shall be kept upright and one shall face the south. Start the stroke by turning the body to the east side and launch the whip by right hand.
