Tour of Songshan Mountain
I went to the Songshan Mountain yesterday. Previously I just studied behind closed doors and knew little about well-known mountains and great waters. In fact, the Songshan Mountain was not very high compared with other four high mountains, but I was still shocked by it.
Luya waterfall was our first target. The mountain seemed more obscure under the fog and the drizzle. The waterfall fell from the high cliff and impacted rocks. It was quite splendid and beautiful. The mountain path winded upward and made people think there was no way out, but eventually the path re-appeared. There was even a bridge across the waterfall, when you crossed the bridge, you would be slightly exposed to the waterfall. That was another kind of enjoyment. We enjoyed seeing trees on the wayside and dewy flowers and plants. Sometimes we got into the forest and the winding path led us to a secluded quiet place as in a dream under the dense fog.
Songshan Mountain was famous for its splendid topographical features. On the way of mountain-climbing, different grand views may come to your eyes when you looked far into the distance occasionally. Even the same scenery may take up a new look when you looked at it from different angles. When we got near the mountain peak, fog became thin. We stood and looked back, we were surprised at the splendid view: several peaks extruded from the rimless sea of clouds as if islets in the ocean, we can see them but cannot reach them. At this time, our mind became infinitely open: the mountain was so magnificent and we were so insignificant, it was a shame to unveil intrigues among people before the mountain. We can live a better life only by keeping a stable state of mind. I formerly thought I have an open mind, but sometimes I was still vulnerable to secular ideas and swayed by considerations of gains and losses. Sometimes I even obtained counter-productive results.
The tour of Songshan Mountain benefited me a lot. I appreciated the beautiful mountain scenery and at the same time exercised my physical strength. It took us four hours to climb to the Junji Peak. It was very difficult for us. We got exhausted physically, but we still encouraged and urged each other to see the wonderful scenery on the peak. Eventually we made it. We shouted, cheered and photoed on the peak.
At the same time, the tour of mountains was also the accompaniment of friends. You may feel lucky and happy if you have like-minded friends. That’s quite good and I don’t pray for more. One of my best friends once told me: it was not the place we went that mattered; it was the people we went with that really mattered. I totally agreed with it. The tour of Songshan Mountain made me think a lot and feel the momentary happiness and inspiration. I will treasure the memory and keep the good state of mind. I will spare no effort to grasp the things I cherish anyway.
